The Vision

The ‘Gardenfather Lounge Chair & Side Table’ were conceived as a personal sanctuary—a retreat for quiet contemplation and spiritual escape. The vision was to create a place connected to nature where one could celebrate life's milestones, read, or simply enjoy a moment of solitude. The set serves a dual purpose: to provide a mental haven and a functional seating space for introspection and gratitude.

The Craft & Materials

Crafted from solid pine with a refined white oak stain, this set was envisioned to be both beautiful and durable. The structure is finished in a sophisticated dark gray, providing a striking contrast to the wood grain. While this prototype was built from pine, the design is also available in a variety of exotic woods to perfectly suit any space.

The true challenge and triumph of this project was the structure itself. The distinct angles of the legs, frame, and back support were meticulously engineered to accomplish a minimalist aesthetic without compromising on human comfort or structural integrity. The intricate joinery is a testament to the fact that beauty and strength are not mutually exclusive.

The Side Table Design Details

The side table is a sculptural counterpart to the chair, mirroring the same design concept and distinct angles of the frame to create a unified set. Its unique structure gives it the look of an abstract form, gracefully supporting the tabletop. A part of the frame elegantly punches through the top to create a small, additional surface—a perfect spot to rest a glass of whiskey or a cool beverage.
